Did you see today's total eclipse? Here in my hometown of Niagara-on-the-Lake, we only received about a 70% eclipse. I did venture outside during the active period, and although it did not get dark here, there was certainly a great change to the quality of the light. It wasn't the same experience of sky as a cloudy day...somehow the light felt dimmed - reduced in a strange way. On Sunday morning I was on the road early, and watched the sun rise from my car. We often admire the sunset, but few people make the effort to rise early enough to see the sun come up. It is a unique and beautiful experience. On Sunday morning the sun turned a brilliant red as it sat just above the morning sunrise. As it lifted, it returned to gold. I'll get up early and watch it again.
